The Lake Stevens Sewer District’s Comprehensive Plan is
a requirement of State Law regarding information of the
existing District as well as its future plans to meet
National Pollution Discharge Elimination Systems (NPDES)
permit requirements when serving the land use
designations set by the City or County where the service
is being provided. The Comprehensive Plan is not in and
of itself any kind of land use document, nor is it
allowed to be by State statute. Rather, it provides a
framework to assure sanitary sewer service where
required by local land use decisions to protect the
public welfare, health and safety. It is imperative and
a mandate upon the District to adequately plan for the
protection of the public health through the ongoing
provision of sanitary sewer service. This task is
provided for through the framework of the Comp. Plan.
A copy of the District’s most recent Comp Plan is
available to purchase. You have the option of purchasing
the plan on a CD for $20.00 or purchase the printed plan
for $50.00.
